The most common recycling material is composted of PETE (polyethylene
terephthalate) plastics and are assigned to the number 1.
The most common recycling numbers are 1 (PETE) and 2 (HDPE), but 3, 4, and 5 are also pretty popular. Numbers 6 and 7 can be difficult to recycle. Number 1 is often plastic water bottles, 2 liter soda bottles, and other liquid food containers. Number 2 is often larger drink containers like milk gallons as well as dyed containers like shampoo bottles.
