According to the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network, there are 8 most common food alergies in the US; these account for approximately 90% of food allergies in the country. Here is the list: dairy allergies, soy allergies, wheat allergies, shellfish allergies, fish allergies, peanut allergies, tree nut allergies, and egg allergies.
All of the above is true of adult allergies. In children, the #1 allergy is dairy. 2-3% of infants in developed countries experience this allergy, and 13-20% of those children are also allergic to beef. However 85-90% of these children also grow out of it by the age of 3.
