Scientists have done studies that have shown that the food we eat can play a significant role in our mood. Not sure where you heard the term or how it was used but a mood food could be used to describe a food that has a specific effect on one’s mood. You may have also heard the term comfort food. This came from the idea that certain foods that we eat make us feel better, either because they’re physically altering the chemistry in our brain, or because we associate them with positive memories or experiences.
