What is a mole lizard?

The Mexican mole lizard, or Ajolote lizard, is an amphisbaenian that has short legs. They’re usually pink in color (pictures in the second link below) and grow to be somewhere between 6 and 9 inches long. They’re a burrowing lizard that lives in Baja, California/Mexico. They prefer to eat insects (ants, worms, termites, and their larvae). They usually only come above ground at night or during storms when the rain threatens to flood and drown them.
