Technology can be considered eco-friendly based on its carbon footprint. So, starting with the manufacturing process, it depends on how the technology was made and whether or not the process used little energy and didn’t waste materials. Also, if the technology itself saves energy, is made from non-harmful materials, and can be recycled, that would make it more eco-friendly as well.
Technology that is considered eco-friendly often has a low life-cycle impact, meaning the energy and resources that are used to create, ship, use, repair and dispose of a product are considered. A product that is made of recyclable or degradable pieces or is very energy efficient would be considered eco-friendly.
