A sustainable ecosystem is one that not only survives on its own, but also thrives without any outside help. These areas do exist today (even though they are rare and diminishing) and usually have certain features. Most sustainable ecosystems will have a variety of diverse species that can maintain a balanced food chain. The ecosystems usually have plenty of space for wildlife to roam and for expansion and plenty of fresh and usable water.Another key component is the absence, or minimal influence of human activity that disrupts the natural ecosystem.
