According to a blog post by Sandeep R, this question was answered in a Naturalist Training Program conducted by S. Karthikeyan, Chief Naturalist of Jungle Lodges and Resorts. According to Karthikeyan, “A person who studies natural history is known as a naturalist. Someone who looks at the nature in totality, someone who does not study nature with respect to one particular species is a naturalist.” Being a naturalist means being aware of various forms of biodiversity and gaining full appreciation of various forms of life.
