Polycarbonate plastic is a durable type of plastic. It is often used in manufacturing bullet-proof glass and scratch-proof eyeglass lenses. “The most common type of polycarbonate plastic is made from bisphenol A (BPA).” The process of producing such hard plastics involve heating and molding. However, some studies show that there are certain health risks associated with BPA. Some consider it a hormone disruptor that could cause defects in embryos of animals and quite possibly humans.
