What makes petroleum a non renewable resource?

    The fact that we only have a finite amount of extractable oil.  As of now, the oil industry estimates only about 42-years worth of oil remains in the resevoirs.  Once oil’s used up, it’s gone–it’s not a naturally self-replenishing resource, like water or wind.
