What makes ocean waves light up with a blue green light at night?

    The blue and green lights which you can see in the ocean at night are a result of bioluminscence. This light is produced by energy released from chemical reactions occurring inside (or ejected by) an organism. This feature is commonly found in the ocean, ranging from species of bacteria to sharks.
