A jacket can be eco-friendly if it uses recycled ingredients or materials that can be harvested without damaging the environment. A lot of coats and clothing is being made with hemp, which can be grown almost anywhere, doesn’t have the psychoactive effects that marijuana has, and is a good, durable fiber which works well as a cotton blend and can cut down on cotton production and deforestation. A jacket can also be eco-friendly if it is made locally because it won’t have to get shipped all over the country. Buying used as well can seem eco-friendly because that is one less future coat that needs to go into production.
