What makes gasoline explosive?

it is the vapor in gasoline that make is explosive. A few things can factor in as well, first is the flash point, or the minimum temperature the liquid will give off sufficient vapor to form an ignitable mixture with air. Since gasoline has a relatively low flash point it ignites easily. And another factor is the vapor density, or the ratio of density of vapor to the density of air, the more dense the vapor the more explosive.
