What makes a building low impact?

That is a very broad question. In general, a low impact building is one made with eco-friendly materials that also uses minimal electricity. Low impact buildings typically have very good insulation so that they don’t need to use much energy to heat or cool them. They could also have solar panels on the roof and energy-saving devices such as lights that are linked to motion sensors rather than switches so people don’t need to remember to turn them off. If you would like the full break-down of what makes a low impact building, I recommend looking into Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification criteria.
