The 3 main reasons why chimpanzees are endangered are habitat loss, capture, and hunting.  Habitat loss occurs from rainforest being cut down to make pasture land for cattle or for logging, leaving the chimps no place to live or breed. Capture results from people taking chimps as pets or for animal shows, and when the chimp becomes unruly or no longer desired, often they are killed or neglected.  Hunting for bushmeat is the greatest endangerment reason, with the meat often being sold on the black market.
