THERE ARE A LOT OF CAUSES OF SEA LEVEL RISE, MOST OF WHICH CAN BE ATTRIBUTED TO GLOBAL WARMING. THE INCREASE OF GREENHOUSE GASES DUE TO ANTROPOGENIC BURNING OF FOSSIL FUELS HAS INCREASED THE EARTH’S TEMPERATURE. AS A RESULT, ICE CAPS HAVE BEEN MELTING, OCEAN WATER HAS BEEN EXPANDING BECAUSE OF THERMAL EXPANSION, MORE INTENSE STORMS AND RAINS HAVE OCCURRED, CAUSING LOCAL FLOODING.
