Technically speaking, all seasons are the same length. The days that signal their start and end, and thus divide the year, are the equinoxes–March 20th and September 22nd–and the solstices–June 21st and December 22nd. What pattern of weather remains longest depends on the specific area; in high latitudes it will take a long time for winter weather to dissipate, while in the tropics it seems like summer all year.
