The longest river in the United States is the Missouri river. It runs about 2,540 miles starting in Montana, running through the Dakotas, Nebraska, part of Kansas, and ends in Missouri where it dumps in to the Mississippi (the second longest river in the US). While the Missouri is a huge river, its size is still only half the length of the Nile, the longest river in the world.
