The Andes stretch over 7200 km and seven countries in South America. Second place goes to the Rockies, at 4800 km. The Himalayas make up the third longest range at 3800 km in length. This range has some of the highest peaks in the world, the most famous being Mount Everest at 8863 meters high.
Some would consider the continuous mid-ocean ridge system the longest mountain range on earth, at about 40,000 miles (65,000 km) long.
The longest mountain range on Earth would have to be the mid-ocean ridge. Spanning 65,000 kilometers (40,389 miles). About 90 percent of the mid-ocean ridge system is under the ocean, the range includes mountains and valleys, that are constantly being reshaped due to Earth’s tectonic plates.
