What is the longest lasting type of home?

The longest lasting common building materials for homes are wood and brick (unless you live in a building made of concrete, steel, or stone). Bricks are durable and resistant to fire and severe weather. Wood is less durable and more flammable certainly, but the track records of wooden buildings speak for themselves. The oldest wooden structure is a temple in Japan that was constructed in the 8th century.
