The longest bridge in the world is actually a set of two parallel bridges known as the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway. The longer bridge is 23.87 miles long, or 38.42 km. The causeway crosses Lake Pontchartrain, as given by the name, and it goes from Mandeville, Louisiana, to Metairie, Louisiana.
