Antarctica’s animals include fish, whales, sharks, seals, arctic terns, and penguins.
Almost all of Antarctica’s animal life is dependent on the sea, and the largest truly land animal is a wingless midge about 13mm / 0.5 of an inch long. The sea animals are mainly warm blooded and they tend to be pretty large as a survival technique against the extreme and relentless cold.
Antarctica is home to a variety of animals. Birds: various species of penguins, terns, skuas, and petrels. Sea creatures: crustaceans, squid, sea snails, and various species of fish. Mammals: fur seals, whales, and dolphins. Insects: springtails, mites, and midges.
