Recent studies reveal that there is a link between female education and a slower rate in population growth. The study focused on certain areas of Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The investigation revealed that the majority of women who had access to higher education wanted smaller families. Other benefits of female education in these countries included: the fall of infant and child mortality rates and the increase of children’s nutrition.
Girls are often taken out of school while they are young so that they can be married off to older men. This happens a lot in cultures who do not value giving women education. If more girls were able to continue their education, they would not be forced to marry while very young and start producing offspring.
