Cheetahs in the wild are known to live up to 12 years. In captivity, the typical lifespan of a cheetah is expanded to 17 years. Cheetahs are very rarely found in America. They exist mainly in Africa.

jbenjami28 is right; cheetahs live up to 12 years in the wild.  Females will become mature right around 2 years old, and mate often.  When the cubs are 18 months old, they will leave their mothers and form their own groups until eventually becoming solitary hunters.
