What is the legal amount of radium that can be found in drinking water in the U.S.?

    The EPA has set out drinking water standards for radioactive contaminants at 5 pCi/L (picoCuries per Liter).  Most states follow this regulation.  Radiation occurs naturally in water in small doses, but high levels can be very harmful to human health.
