The condition of “gang green”, or gangrene, occurs when dying/dead tissue is still part of the living body. The primary cause of gangrene is the lack of blood flow to an affected area of the body. This can be caused by infections, circulatory disorders like diabetes, or injuries like severe burns and frostbite.
Gangrene is the death of a patch of tissue, either on the skin, the muscles, or the organs. Gangrene occurs when the tissue loses it’s blood supply. It is most common in the arms and legs, usually when they are crushed, like in an accident or some sort of injury. When left untreated, gangrene can become very serious and ultimately become fatal.
