    In terms of animals, the Berlin Zoo is the largest, with more than 14,000 of 1,500 species.

    It depends on what you mean in terms of largest because like the previous answer said, the Berlin Zoo has the most animals.  However, many game reserves are considered giant open air zoos, in which case the Namibian Reserve is the biggest zoo and covers 78,000 square acres of land.  The zoo that attracts the most visitors is in Mexico City which attracts over 5 million people per year.

    The largest zoo in terms of number of species in captivity is Germany’s Zoologischer Garten located in Berlin. Founded in 1844, the zoo is currently the home to 15,000 animals representing 1,400 different species. The zoo covers 86 acres and attracts an average of 2.6 million visitors each year.
