The Rafflesia arnoldii (Rafflesia for the botonist Thomas Raffles; Arnoldi for the botonist Joseph Arnold). Found in the jungles of Indonesia, it is a parasitic plant, the flowers of which can grow up to 3 feet in diameter and weigh up to fifteen pounds. It is also one of the foulest smelling flowers in the world, emitting an odor of rotting meet.
The plant with the largest flower clusters is the Titan Arum. Another Indonesian plant, it grows up to 12 feet and can weigh 170 pounds. It too, apparently, is a real stinker.
In the US, perhaps sunflowers. In Kansas at least, they grow to be six feet tall. <3
