The largest water recycling plant known today is located in Monterey county.  The facility recycles water primarily for the use of irrigation and agricultural needs.  Supplying water to the Salinas valley, the system includes 45 miles of pipeline and 22 separate wells.  Funded by the Monterey Regional Water Pollution Control Agency (MRWPCA), it’s main goal is to prevent seawater from intruding into the local farmland.
