    One of the largest volcanoes in the Phillipines is Mount Pinatubo located in the southern part of Luzon.  Mount Pinatubo got its fame in 1991 when it violently erupted, killing over 700 people.  During this eruption, the summit of the volcano was broken apart, resulting in a 2.5 kilometer depression.
