Due to the inherent difficulty in measuring underwater volcanoes, less than 0.1% of the world’s underwater volcanoes have been explored. However, the biggest is believed to be Davidson Seamount, which is 2400 meters tall, yet is still 1250 meters below the ocean’s surface.
Davidson Seamount is almost certainly extinct.
