That would be the Atchafalaya Swamp on the Louisiana Coast. It exists where the Atchafalaya River and the Gulf of Mexico converge and consists of wetlands and river delta area. The swamp adds up to 595,000 acres, but it is sparsely inhabited (except by mosquitoes).
