Alaska is hands down the largest state. It is almost 1/3 the size of the continental United States. It also has the lowest population density. There is about 1.1 people per square mile in Alaska. What makes Alaska so beautiful is also what makes it such a daunting place to live. There is debate as to how this land should be used. There is oil in Alaska which is frightening when you consider what we have already done to our planet with the oil we are using – it doesn’t seem we should be looking for more any time soon.
