What is the largest species of crab?

    The Japanese Spider Crab is the largest crab and largest arthropod.  It can have a leg span of 13 feet, a body of 15 inches and weigh up to 44 pounds.  Some live to age 100.  They generally live on the bottom of the Pacific Ocean.
