The longest snake native to the United States is the Indigo Snake, which can grown to lengths of 84 inches (213 cm). Indigo snakes are native to Florida and the southern regions of Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi.

The Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake can get heavier than the Indigo Snake but is not as long.

If you include all of North America, the bushmaster vipers (genus Lachesis) are very large. They can reach up to 12 feet in length. They live in Central America, including places like Costa Rica and Panama. They range into northern South America.
