The largest is the Limax Cinereoniger. also known as the black keel back slug, which is found all over Europe. It can grow to lengths exceeding 20 centimeters easily. It’s relatively rare but is simultaneously well spread out across Europe and you can find it basically anywhere except the farthest reaches of Scandanavia or the extreme south of the Medditeranean.
The black keel back slug (native to continental Europe) is the largest land slug, with the average slug exceeding 20 cm in length. It is exclusively a forest dweller, and lives by eating mushrooms and algae growths that commonly form on fallen logs.
