The largest natural sinkhole in the world is the Qattara west of Cairo, Egypt. It is 80km by 120km. It has a drop of about 1000 feet. It is 100% natural. Scientists are trying to harness the Qattara for energy.
The world’s largest sinkhole is next to the Nile River, the Qattara Depression in the Qattara area of Egypt extending about 185 miles with a drop of about 1,000 feet or 133 meters.
