The world’s largest power plant is the Three Gorges Dam, located on China’s Yangtze River, which produces hydroelectric power. Although it is not fully operational yet, it is expected to produce 22.5 gigawatts of power when it becomes fully operational in 2011. It has been the world’s largest power plant since August 2009, when it produced 18.3 gigawatts of power.
