That’s not one oil rig in Alaska covering 150,000 acres – that’s the entire field, which probably contains dozens or hundreds of individual rigs. The Thunder Horse platform in the Gulf of Mexico is the highest rated platform in the Gulf, at 250,000 barrels per day through 7 separate wells. But it has not reached production of such volumes yet.
