What is the largest insect?

It depends on your definition of “largest”. The bulkiest is the Acteon Beetle of South America, measuring up to 3.5″ long, 2″ wide, and 1.5″ thick. The heaviest on record was a pregnant Giant Weta from New Zealand, at 71 grams (a little over 2 ounces). And the longest is the stick insect from Borneo. The female can be over 14″ long, but is also extremely thin.
