The largest great white shark that has been verifiably recorded was caught in Cuba in the 1940s. It measured in at 21.3 feet (6.4 meters).
Many larger sharks have been sighted throughout history, but the cited webpage notes that few (if any) of them are verifiable, and most have been exposed as tall tales or misevaluations by overeager catchers.
