    The largest grasshoppers appear to be the Australian Giant Grasshoppers, ranging in size from 60mm-90mm. They are common in Brisbane. For more info, check out the citation.

    Grasshoppers belong to the order Orthoptera, and there are 20,000 species in that order, but the largest of the grasshoppers on average is the Giant Grasshopper found in Australia and are about 4.5 inches long with 10 inch wingspans.
