In the lower 48, Desert National Wildlife Refuge in Nevada is the largest US Fish and Wildlife Refuge at over 1,600,000 acres.
In Alaska the refuges are much larger: Yukon Delta National Wildlife Refuge is 19 million acres and the Artic National Wildlife Refuge is 1.5 million acres.
