    The Bialowieza Forest, located in Poland, is the largest remaining section of the vast forest that stretched across Europe. It is also considered an UNESCO world heritage site.

    The Virgin Komi Forest is also considered the largest virgin forest in Europe. A virgin forest or otherwise known as primary or ancient forest, is a forest which contains trees which have attained great age and exhibits unique ecological features. It is a forest in its natural state, before it was explored or exploited by man. It is a natural UNESCO World Heritage site in the Northern Ural Mountains in Russia and encompasses 32,800 kilometers.
