    According to Mongabay.com, which features a list of fish species found in the Nile, the largest fish (on average) is the Gymnarchus Niloticus, commonly referred to as the African knifefish; it may also be known as the Aba, Aba Aba or Frankfish. The average length of the Knifefish is 204 cm. The next largest is the Protopterus Aethiopicus Aethiopicus, also known as the Marbled Lungfish, which averages a length of 200 cm.
