The world’s largest egg was laid by the Great Elephant Bird in Madagascar almost 400 years ago. It is 13 inches tall and measures 3 feet around its circumference. The egg is 300 times the size of a hen’s egg, and is the largest of any creatures including dinosaurs.
The Great Elephant Bird weighed half a ton and was hunted to extinction by hunters in the 1600s.
