The largest coal-fired electricity plant in China is located about 20 kilometers north of Beijing. Check out this video for more information about the area and effects from the coal plant. In recent years, however, China has switched to building cleaner and more efficient coal plants. I believe that China’s largest coal-fired power station is Haudian International Zouxian Power Plant of the Shandong province, which is home to 96 million people. It has a total installed capacity of 4400 MW, and was constructed in four phases, and the fourth was completed in 2007.
