    In terms of length the largest bug is Malaysia and Singapore’s female Walking Stick bug.  The largest recorded Walking Stick is 21.8″.  Other large bugs belong to the scarab beetle family.  South American Longhorn Beetles can grow to 6.5″, male Acteon Beetle of South America reach 5.3″ long and 1.6″ thick, and Elephant Beetles of Venezuela and Mexico reach lengths of 5.4″
