The largest bridge on the in the Amazon rainforest is a 3,595 meter long bridge over the Negro River.  It has 74 pillars to join the large metropolitan area of Manaus to the surrounding areas.  Previously there was a ferry that was needed to get across the river, but this obviously makes transportation far easier, and there are hopes that it will increase the economy of the city and surrounding areas.  It is also toll free because it is considered a public service for the people of the rainforest.
