The largest breeds of house cats are the Maine Coon, Siberian, and Serval cats. They can reach almost 30lbs when fully grown. An even larger cat, although much rarer and more expensive is the Ashera, which is sort of a miniature leopard.
The largest breed of house cat is the Maine Coon Cat. Maine Coon males can weigh up to 25 pounds. Despite their large size, these cats are gentle and affectionate and have even been described as dog-like because of their sociable personalities. The cat’s name comes from its racoon-like bushy tail.
Male Mane Coon cats can weigh anywhere between 15 and 25 pounds with females weighing between 10 and 15 lbs. The height of adults can vary between 10 and 16 inches and can reach a length of up to 40 inches. In 2006 the guinness World Record named a male purebred Maine Coon the “Longest Cat”. This cat measured 48 inches in length, from tip of his nose to the tip of his tail, and weighed 35 pounds.
