The largest bird in North America is the California Condor; this massive bird can have a body length of 43-52 inches, a wingspan of up to 9.5 feet and a weight of up to 23 pounds. However, since “America” can apply to South America as well, then the answer is the Andean Condor. The measurements of this bird are slightly larger than his California cousin, with a body length of 43-52 inches, a wingspan of up to 11 feet and a weight of up to 33 pounds. Both birds are endangered species.
